Why TAALDEF — Why Now?

Yet Another “Inconvenient Truth”

If you are a Texan who loves the ”wide open spaces” which our state is famous for, we hope you will join with and support us in our efforts to educate others about the human, societal, and environmental cost of the push towards globalization and uncontrolled mass immigration to our nation and Texas.

Significant steps must be taken to change the dynamics in Texas on the ground soon, or our great state will soon follow in the footsteps of California.  Once a sparkling gem in America, California is financially bankrupt with rapidly decreasing  natural resources and increasing unemployment rates due in large part to the steady flow of immigrants (both legal and illegal) to that state.

According to a February 2009 report prepared by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security titled Estimates of the Unauthorized Immigrant Population Residing in the United States: January 2008, California remained the leading state of residence to our “unauthorized” population in 2008 with 2.9 million ”unauthorized” residents.  Texas was the next leading state with 1.7 million ”unauthorized” residents.

Reasonable people understand that population growth and environmental degradation are related.   It is impossible to add millions of new immigrants to our population without negatively affecting sewage disposal, water quality/availability, air quality, pollution, land use, carbon emissions, infrastructure and wetlands.

The United States now has a population of more than 305 million and the U.S. Census Bureau projects that the U.S. population will reach 433 million by 2050 — an increase of 44 percent or 135 million from today’s numbers.  New immigrants and their U.S. born children will account for 82 percent of the increase in population.

At the projected rate of population growth, the U.S. will increase at a rate similar to China and India.  Is that the American “dream” you envisioned for your children and grandchildren?

Since Texas currently holds 2nd place in immigrant population, there is no reason to believe that Texas would not be a prime destination for new immigrants (both legal and illegal) seeking opportunities in our nation.

Continued  large scale  immigration and the push towards globalization ultimately affect the access American citizens have to quality health care,  exceptional education and job opportunities.

TAALDEF Purpose/Mission:

The purpose of the Texas Alliance for America Legal Defense & Education Fund (“TAALDEF“) is to educate the American public about the causes and consequences of  large scale immigration between countries and the push towards globalization.

Through educational media, presentations and research projects, TAALDEF will raise public awareness of these issues and how each will ultimately impact the quality of life for current and future generations of American citizens.   The organization shall endeavor to encourage Americans to participate more fully in the “civic process” of governmental affairs at all levels.

TAALDEF will support efforts to insure that American citizens residing in Texas receive equal protection under the law as it relates to employment,  quality education opportunities, property protection, expenditure of taxpayer funds and civil rights issues.
